1 – Final Deception
24 – take heed no man deceive you
Matthew 24:1–5 (NLT)
Matthew 24:1–5 NLT
1 As Jesus was leaving the Temple grounds, his disciples pointed out to him the various Temple buildings. 2 But he responded, “Do you see all these buildings? I tell you the truth, they will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!” 3 Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?” 4 Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, 5 for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many.

deception is the natural result of ignorance

Hosea 4:6 – destroyed for a lack of knowledge

deception is the natural fruit of apostacy

turning from the truth – backslidden Christians grew tired of God’s truth and heaped many teachers to scratch their itching ears
rev – white horse – no arrows
Revelation 6:1–2 NLT
1 As I watched, the Lamb broke the first of the seven seals on the scroll. Then I heard one of the four living beings say with a voice like thunder, “Come!” 2 I looked up and saw a white horse standing there. Its rider carried a bow, and a crown was placed on his head. He rode out to win many battles and gain the victory.

100-fold, running over!

Deception persecutes the CHURCH

deception in the church calls evil good

abortion, living together unmarried, non-heterosexual relations, drinking

deception of the world calls good evil

deception calls the Bible hate speech
deception calls Christians bigots
The natural result of deception is to attack truth
Matthew 24:9 NLT
9 “Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers.
Jesus is the TRUTH
CHRIST-IANS = little Christs
Christians follow the truth
Messianic Jews will be killed
news: 1 in 6 believe violence is appropriate to achieve their ends
Matthew 24:10 NLT
10 And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other.
“from ME” – Jesus IS the TRUTH
Matthew 24:11 NLT
11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people.
voids are always filled – by something
the void of truth is filled by deception
deception perpetuates itself – gains momentum – like a “herd mentality”
deceiving and being deceived (Rom 1)

deception gives birth to error, apostacy and blasphemy

Matthew 24:12 NLT
12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.

when you do not receive the truth, you will conceive a lie

when sin conceives, it brings forth death
Romans 1 – loved not the truth
Matthew 24:13 NLT
13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Deception persecutes the JEWS

Matthew 24:15 (NLT)
Matthew 24:15 NLT
15 “The day is coming when you will see what Daniel the prophet spoke about—the sacrilegious object that causes desecration standing in the Holy Place.” (Reader, pay attention!)
Daniel 9:24–27 (NLT)
Daniel 9:24–27 NLT
24 “A period of seventy sets of seven has been decreed for your people and your holy city to finish their rebellion, to put an end to their sin, to atone for their guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to confirm the prophetic vision, and to anoint the Most Holy Place. 25 Now listen and understand! Seven sets of seven plus sixty-two sets of seven will pass from the time the command is given to rebuild Jerusalem until a ruler—the Anointed One—comes. Jerusalem will be rebuilt with streets and strong defenses, despite the perilous times. 26 “After this period of sixty-two sets of seven, the Anointed One will be killed, appearing to have accomplished nothing, and a ruler will arise whose armies will destroy the city and the Temple. The end will come with a flood, and war and its miseries are decreed from that time to the very end. 27 The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven, but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds, he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration, until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him.”
Antisemitism is increasing, even on America’s college campuses, and will reach an all-time high on a global scale.

Deception degenerates until it reaches its final destination – destruction of truth

The Jews will sign a peace treaty with the Antichrist to rebuild the 3rd Temple!
no godly person or organization would knowingly partner with darkness!
But because the antichrist hides his true identity, he is able to deceive even the highest levels of world government.

Deception hides until it controls

· once deception has its victims firmly in its grasp, it has no more motivation to conceal itself.
· Instead, the arrogance of deception will actually REVEAL itself!
the White horseman dismounts and enters the Holy Place and show his true colors!
by announcing he is god, he takes peace from the earth (Rev 4)
Matthew 24:16 NLT
16 “Then those in Judea must flee to the hills.

Jesus Warned of End Time Deception

Matthew 24:23–28 (NLT)
Matthew 24:23–28 NLT
23 “Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. 25 See, I have warned you about this ahead of time. 26 “So if someone tells you, ‘Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or, ‘Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it! 27 For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man comes. 28 Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.

Don’t be Deceived – Be Received!

Matthew 24:42 NLT
42 “So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.
